South American football has always been more than a sport. It's identity, pride, passion and culture passed down through generations. But at a global stage like the FIFA World Cup, federations can easily get lost in the noise, reduced to logos on a banner rather than living, breathing representations of what makes their football special.
CONMEBOL came to us with a challenge: how do you create an emotional, ownable brand connection at the world's biggest sporting event, one that feels as bold and vibrant as the football itself?
Our answer was the Tree of Dreams.
Built for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, the Tree of Dreams was a fan zone unlike anything the tournament had seen. Inspired by the insight that South American football culture is distinctively passionate, vibrant and bold, we constructed a vivid favela courtyard that blended museum-quality storytelling with immersive interactives, Warhol-esque artistry and superhero grandeur, lionizing the iconic players who made South American football the most celebrated on the planet.
At the heart of it all stood a monumental 30-ft Tree of Dreams, a centrepiece that encapsulated the deep-rooted history and generational connections that define the CONMEBOL nations. It wasn't decoration. It was a statement.
The space became a revered gathering point for fans, dignitaries and legends alike. We hosted the Maradona anniversary celebration within its walls. Football icons and federation executives passed through. The FIFA President visited. It became the cultural heartbeat of the tournament for South American fans, a place to celebrate where they came from and dream about where the game was going.
The results reflected the emotional impact. 116,000 visitors came through the doors. 4.4 million social impressions were generated. And 97% of South Americans surveyed said the experience made them feel proud, the ultimate measure of success for an activation built on identity, not just engagement.
